He had his own personal gunsmith that took care of his sizable collection before he sold some of it off. Not sure if he still works for him now or not

Finding a gun from Hank's collection is on my bucket list. Preferably an "ole 45" or a "Smith and Wesson Magnum 44"! Or, a .44 Special. Is that a Hank gun?

Or, a .44 Special. Is that a Hank gun? I wish it was a “Brant” gun! A real beauty!

Or, a .44 Special. Is that a Hank gun? Yep. One of the first Texas Longhorn Arms ever made and it was made for Hank. Inscribed to him on the backstrap, but I couldn't quickly find a picture of the inscription.

He’s used a Phoenix symbol similar to the Ruger logo over the years. He’s one guy I would like to meet. Especially would like to hang out with him back in the day!!!! He’s lived a wild life. A man’s man!!!!! Modern day Hemingway, Ruark etc. A little story my aunt likes to tell: Sometime maybe in the mid 90's my aunt and her son, my late cousin David, were traveling and they stopped for the night in a hotel. She turned in but cousin David made his way to the hotel bar. He must have been in his early 20's at the time because he passed away as a young man not much after the story. Anyway, the next morning he's going on and on about the the guy he had met and how they had talked and talked. As they are driving away, she sees Hank Jr's tour bus parked on the street nearby. She immediately puts two and two together and asks if he had met Hank Jr. "No, no. He wasn't named Hank. He said his name was... um... eh... Bocephus??" She thinks Hank must have had a great time being with someone who had no idea who he was. Just two guys swapping stories.

You know, everyone has a story. My great aunt and young family lived next door to Jr when he was just a newborn. She would visit with his mother regularly and even babysat him on occasion. I doubt she ever listened to his music after he started singing his own. Like many other musicians, I’ve never heard on the radio the songs that are my favorites.
