Here is Colorado there is a Gator farm in the San Luis Valley, yeah everyone thinks why the heck do you raise gators in the Colorado high country? Well the farm is based on warm springs from the ground where they raise Tilapia in bulk. They then feed the remains to the gators year around to grow them of course!
Hadn't thought of that place in years till you mentioned Tilapia...

I've always liked tilapia, and up till a couple of years ago the waters in south Florida were full of them, I bought a fishing bow and practiced up then found the whole fleet of them were harvested by other bow fishermen.
Today my GF and I went to eat sushi and for the first time ever I saw tilapia there. The meat was very nice well suited to sushi, AND it doesn't deplete ocean going species. A co-worker told me farm raised tilapia is big business in Jamaica.
