I bought my first NIB firearm in many years and got it off of GB. I didn't look at the fact that the seller has a website. AFTER hitting buy it now on a Taurus TX22 I went to their site. No sales tax if ordered from their web page. Buy though GB, pay sales tax. So much for that "if" your state charges sales tax. Where's the money go?

Legit Gripe!!! GB does send the money to your state. Keep looking GB also charged you a Buyer fee on top of it all!!! I made the same mistake,,, ONCE,,,, learned my lesson and now always try to work the go around -vs- Merry-go-around. GB not what it used to be. I have found www.gunsinternational.com/. To be a better source for online.

Some dealers will allow you to do the workaround but some won't. As mentioned in another post some of the listings on GunBroker or guns international will allude to the fact that you can call the shop for better pricing. GunBroker wants their pound of flesh and they've designed the system to help ensure that I get it. Once in awhile you can make that phone call directly. But in their defense many online retailers were attacked by various government agencies to ensure that they got their pound of flesh the form of sales tax. Once the online sales became more prominent many states were losing a lot of income and they had to do something about it.

Yup, a legit gripe.
I have others... Why separate listings for duplicates like .44 mag, .44 remington magnum, .44 magnum? Also Stainless, Stainless steel, Brushed Stainless? Finally why can't you select more than one item like barrel length?
Gads couldn't their filters straighten out the mess? :-)

Really not a legit gripe. Read the rules and accept them. Use another service like Guns International.

There are also entirely too many guns that are listed as "other" caliber when they clearly aren't "other." This may be a seller gripe more than a GB gripe however.

Magman, how can GB force sales tax in a state that doesn't enforce collection of the same? Legit.

All I can say is read the rules and when did GB collect the tax?
Maybe GB should be contacted in regards to that. I had to contact them once because they collected sales tax on a buyer who was tax exempt. They corrected that.
