I was in the AW Peterson gunshop yesterday sending one out and the owner was displaying part of a collection of guns he got from a deceased persons family. These are all different manufacturers I'm told. I held the Paratrooper, it was like new as all of them are. It was cool. They are not for sale. That box of ammo behind the Paratrooper is a box of 25-06 from Walmart with a 10.95 price tag on it. The rounds were substantially corroded.

Oh wow man! If that Paratrooper is original WWII manufacture, it is worth big bucks. Very cool to walk in and see a collection of that magnitude.

2nd they are the longest running gun shop in the United States of america. Aw Peterson used to build and compete with his own rifles and win at the highest levels of competition. He's been gone a long time now and their primary focus is plastic pistols but every now and then because it's in a rural part of town with senior citizens they come up with some interesting stuff in the used case. Those guns in that rack belong to the owner and are not for sale

I love a good M1 carbine collection. It was never in my meager machinist's budget to attempt to collect by manufacturers, but I did accumulate 7 nice ones back in the day. Down to one now, the only one that can consistently hit a 12" gong at 300 yards. Any more than that, with me at the trigger is just a fantasy.

MRS. dad had one we inherited, that was ( not as nice as those ) but exceptional for around here... it's the only milsurp rifle I kept, during my big sell off a couple years ago... I figure it's a perfect rifle for her if a "conflict" ever arose... I think it's an Inland???

That Inland dates to 1944-probably late winter-early spring Inland was a division of General Motors located in Ohio. My Inland M1 Carbine dates to the 4th quarter of 1944. www.uscarbinecal30.com
