I find it behind my belt more and more often. Even on days, going places where other options would be wiser. So, now wanting to put a night sight up front. Ruger lists a XS and a Novak. Anyone here clearly like one better than the other ? Had an XS Big Dot on a Kahr, Novak name goes back aways.. not adverse to either at this point. Novak less bucks by a good bit.

XS also makes a standard "dot" front night sight. The big dot isn't a larger tritium vial just a larger white painted ring around it. The standard XS dot will fit in your sight groove in the rear of the frame better. The Big Dot will not. Pistol-Forum.com in the revolver section has a thread running on J frame and LCR replacement front sights. They have a 150 page thread over there on LCRs. Might be worth a look. Here's another that is apropos to your question: pistol-forum.com/showthread.php?58233-LCR22-amp-LCR38-custom-sights

Ruger sells the standard XS. The Kahr, came to me used, a Big Dot already on, an express type V on rear. Understand.

I got the longer, no finger grooves, Hogue grip for the 357 LCR and put it on. Will try it tomorrow. The XS sight, I've not swapped pinned front sights myself, what to be cautious of, careful with ?
