Going to pick up a new 69 with 2.75” barrel. Been wanting one for awhile now. Couple buds with them. Just seems for the money that they just make sense to me. Hope to get it this am. Been some great post about these on here so that enables me too

You know I was just thinking about that very gun. I don’t have a lot of real wants in double actions but that particular gun is certainly at the top of the want list.
It would be shot 95% of the time with 44sp level loads but have a heavy working load at the ready for as well when in the back country.

As a strong supporter of the 69 Smith and owner of each model I heartily recommend them. To me the beauty of the 69 is it's on an L frame takes up less territory on the belt, lower bore ax and very accurate. My heavier N frames stay home and the L frame 69s go with me all the time. Fowler made a great case for the 69.
Packing a 357 sized gun with 44 Mag power. Brian Pearce did an endurance test on the 69 with full horsepower loads and gave it a hearty recommendation.
My favorite 44 Special load is super accurate in the 69 (as well as others) 240-250 SWC, 8grains of Power Pistol and a standard primer in a 44 Special case for 950-1000fps depemding on bl length. Best part is the pressure 17K PSI. The load just described was offered by Brian Pearce.
Magnums when you need them and Specials when you don't.

Plus one on what E38 said above.
Another strong supporter here! Been mostly shooting the 2.75" lately. Hope you enjoy your new M69 as much as I've enjoyed mine.

You won't regret the purchase. The Smith 69 has easily become one of my favorites. I predominantly use 44 Specials, also loaded with PP.
Well done!

Thanks guys! Carried it this afternoon cutting hay and almost dark got to run a few through it. I like how you hardly know it’s there. Easy carrying little toad. Sounds like someone might be doing a conversion? Now that would cool as well!
