I sent my Redhawk to Jack Hunting to do his grip frame modification. I had him do an action job as well. I am thrilled with the results. I use full house 320 gr loads in it. I'd like to see some photos of what Jack does to a Redhawk grip shape. Did he modify the steel or just make grips for it? Is what he did like this? singleactions.proboards.com/thread/26721/jack-huntington-modified-colt-redhawk

Here is a pic of my Redhawk. He altered both the metal and the wood.

I like a wood grip that fills the hand and has a general side to side radius in the back to spread the recoil energy around the hand. I’d rather have the solid contact than a wrap around rubber.

I rounded the butt on mine a few years after cutting down the barrel. I used an old Colt Marshal as the pattern for the grip profile. It handles the Grizzly 320gr. just fine for me.

For the purpose of shooting lots of .44 Mag loads today in my Ruger Redhawk 5.5" I did swap out to the Pachmayr Decelerator grips, it did make a difference in felt recoil. I like the wooden stocks better while carrying though... wood is good as they say, so I'm looking for a new set of wooden stocks for it.
