My S&W Model 15 arrived today from seller. Just the right amount of honest wear on a tight, solid gun.

That's a good looking gun. As long as the sights are clean and black the rest is gravy.

Carry that 15 with confidence and pride. Love the diamond Magnas and T grip.

Nowadays I actually prefer used over new.

Blued steel is a waiting canvas. Paint your story on it.

Beautiful!
I much prefer an "experienced" gun to something perfectly preserved. It looks better and you're not afraid to use it.

Even my new guns get used enough to look not new fairly quickly. The only ones that have stayed new looking are my two "spare" nib Maximums.

I have been accused of paying more for a gun with "an experienced " finish than a new one. Fearless to carry to me is priceless. When I make a mistake and a pristine pretty thing comes home, it will probably sit in the back of the safe till it's sold.

Blue handguns have a habit of showing what the owner does with them.....

I'm also a fan of honest wear on a handgun. My 1956 357 flattop and my 8,3/8" M27 come to mind. They both shoot as new or better.

Some of my favorites show well used wear. Acquired this one saving it from being chopped down, converted and re-blued… Gave it a good cleaning & installed a Stainless Old Army Grip Frame, wide trigger, fitted with some vintage Eagle grips, this thing shoots!!!

harveylogan...I see that one as having been used for some heavy anti-varmint duty. It looks like a killer.
