the wife’s uncle had one he wanted me to check out (failure to feeds, think it just needs broke in) and I really liked the compactness. Any experiences from the group?
Also, anyone shooting powdercoated or Hi-tek’d bullets from one?
gracias

A Kahr 9 is my carry gun but I can’t talk to it eating cast bullets. I know I shut it much better than I do a Glock!😀

My PM9 gets a steady diet of Hi-Tek'd bullets (120, 124 and 135 gr.) from Bayou Bullets. No problems. When new, the PM9 often will not reliably chamber the first round unless loaded from slide lock with the slide release instead of slingshotting the slide. As I recall, the owners manual makes that recommendation as well. I have an early model that has many rounds through it and it no longer requires the extra impetus from that technique.
Tiny, thin, great trigger, visible sights and will hold its own with larger pistols out to 25 yards. I had to replace a weak magazine release after 10 years but Kahr sent me one for free as I recall.

My CW9 has been totally reliable and accurate but the point about using the slide lock to drop the slide beats sling shotting it, is the right call.

I had a Kahr CW45, which is a more budget-priced Kahr, but the barrel was rifled like any other barrel - cut rifling. Button, hammer forged, I don't know, but it was great with cast.
It was also more pleasant to shoot, even at half the weight of an all-steel Officer's model 1911 fro, RIA. I owned and shot both at the same time for a few years and both were great pistols and accurate.
The 1911 made it hard to keep my pants up, but the Kahr was a gem for carry. Very nice gun, very reliable. From the first round, until I sold it after a couple years, I had ONE failure - a failure to go into battery. When I looked things over, it was a 200 grain SWC seated to a bit over the suggested max. overall length. I set the bullets back in the rest of that box and they all ran through it just fine.
Very nice gun and the price was surprisingly low. I think I paid about $350 for it new. Never had to do a single thing to it tweaking or tuning. Actually, the RIA 1911 was dead-even with it in that respect, it just weighed twice as much.

I own the K9, P9, and PM9.The PM9 shoots as tight a group as the K9. It is easy to carry and easy to shoot well especially for it's size. Kahr also recommends 200 rounds for break in and I agree. Tolerances are tight and precise but they remind of swiss watches. Mine likes Hornady 124 gr +P 9mms. Carry that load in the Kahrs mentioned above as well as an old MK9 which is the stainless version of the PM9. PM9 is first choice for EDC.

you’re all telling me exactly what I want to hear, thanks for enabling me Here's a lube diagram from Kahrtalk.com . www.kahrtalk.com/showthread.php?308-Kahr-Lube-Diagram. I don't have a CM/PM9 but do have a CM45. It is a bit persnickity about ammo, but 230gr JRN factory ammo runs with no problem. Also have a couple of CW45s (also ammo sensitive but reliable with right ammo) . . A CW40 (my everyday pocket carry gun when not using a CW45) - it has been modified some to eliminate a tendency to lock slide open or drop magazine (both due to the way I grip with gun). It is also a bit ammo sensitive when using reloads - no problem with factory ammo. . Slimmed slide release and reduced size of mag release. . . Had My CW9 for maybe 10 years - it gobbles up everything - can't ever rmemeber any functioning problem.

My daily carry gun is a Kahr CM9, which is the economy version of the PM9. After about 50 rounds to break it in, it has been totally reliable. It is light weight, very compact, and accurate for such a small gun. I'm very happy with mine or I wouldn't carry it....
