Yes, I know you can shoot long loaded 44 Specials in a 44 mag lever gun in most cases but I am wondering if there is one particular make and model that digest the special rounds better than others?

My marlin feeds, loads and ejects 44 specials better than my rossi 92.
Inertial made a couple that were 44 special only. I wanted one yet never got it.

I don't have one but have heard the 1873 44spl. sold by Cimarron runs very smooth. They raise the bullet up level then slide it in. I do have various model 1892 and 1894 rifles and they all work well but do have occasional hiccupps some times.

I handled and fired a Cimarron (Uberti) 1873 SRC in 44 Special. Fed and fired quite smoothly. Problem was, it shot way left with every load we tried. Rear sight had to be drifted so far right that it looked silly. The front sight was integral with the barrel band so there was no windage adjustment there. Probably was a “one of” problem. I believe they also have an 1866 available in .44 Special. Now if someone would make an 1860 Henry reproduction in 44 Special…….

I haven't shot it extensively yet, but my new Winchester 92 in 44 Magnum has handled what RCBS 44-240-SWC and the 44-250-K in Special brass I've fed it without a hitch. Neither will feed in Magnum brass as they are too long.
