Somewhere I saw that he had a NM blackhawk in 41 magnum with a brass grip frame.... that sounds pretty nice to me.

He did have short barrel 41 with a brass SBH grip frame but it was an old model Iām pretty sure since Ruger only made brass old model grip frames in the SBH configuration.

I believe the brass grip frame wasn't factory for the one I'm thinking of. Course.. I could have the details wrong.

I'll take the 3rd from the left Until then, I'll make due with this one I've had since the early 80's because of him! But it since I got old, no more 429421's over 22 grains of 2400

Ruger did make a small run of SBH brass framed OM .41s in the late 1960s but I believe I read that Elmer's Blackhawk was a very early one that was returned to the factory to have the brass frame put on.
He also had a consecutive pair of S&W 57s 4" guns....
Any of those guns would make me happy...

I have two of his shotguns and two of his rifles. I really really wanted the Flat-top with the folding rear sights and the zero frame smith that he had. I soon was outbid on all the handguns, so I did not end up with any. Wish I had. Bid on the No.5 the last time it came up but I was out when it was at 1/3 of what it sold for. Sigh never seem to have money at the right time for the Keith auctions.
