After reading the thread on the S&W M19 I wonder how many have used the 173 Keith bullet and 13.5 grains of 2400 in 38 Special brass and what were the result?
Sorry, forgot to add in 38 Special cases.

Very accurate, universal 357 load in long Smith cylinders and Ruger. Comfortable 357 load.

A whole lot of us. My brother killed a pile of deer with that load in his Win 94 Trapper.
I have run it in a 28 far more than my 2 1/2” 19, makes for a fine trail load in the gun though. I figured it was a bit hard on the gun for regular use.

I’ve shot a good bit of it in my 6” 19-5….but loaded in the Magnum case back in college, took several groundhogs at 100+ yards with that load, eventually found it got me ~1,350fps over my chronograph, last time I loaded that bullet I deep seated over 12gr/2400 in the mag case for 1,200 fps. Think the highest I ever went in the special case was 11.5 or 12 grains of 2400, Ive babied that gun.

I've never loaded it with 2400 in a Special case but regularly deep seat them to Special OAL in magnum brass for my 27. 12.5-13.5 doesn't seem to make much difference, accurate either way. Easy to bang away with on the 200 yard steel at my range, wish my .44 was as easy to hit with.
