Does anybody have any experiences on Hornady 45-240gr cypress-mag. on game ? Seems like a pretty stout bullet. Was wondering about expansion on game?

I don't know about performance on game at this point. But I do know that it shoots rifle-like groups out of my Freedom Arms 83.

As long as you are at 454-460 velocity they work well

I’m thinking 1500-1600fps.

I use this bullet over 2400 in my FA97. Had to trim the brass 3% to make it fit, so I did the same with my charge. Two different chronographs clocked it over 1500 fps. Killed a 100# hog with it this past April it was one of the most decisive blood trails I’ve ever had with a handgun. Disturbingly accurate too. It’s an ‘N’ of 1 but it was one heckuva convincing blood trail.

I should add that I've shot other rams with my Kimber 325wsm with 200gr Accubonds at 2950fps and they didn't hit the ground like this one. Well one did but it was a cns shot.
Also, I used this bullet/load after reading around here or over at handgun hunt a member, maybe tradbow? Has killed truckload of deer with the 240gr xtp mag and said it puts them down with authority. Which is what I was after hunt sheep. They can run off and fall in some pretty inhospitable places. Been there done that.
