I saw them perform in the old T38 Talons at Charlotte Douglas airport I guess back in the very early 80s. They put on a breath taking performance.

Probably watch them from the kids house tomorrow since the base will be crazy with graduation and The President speaking. Security will be tighter than a bulls butt during fly season and I went through that when the kids graduated in ‘08.
President Bush presented that year and no matter what one thinks of him as a president, the man presented every diploma and shook every cadet’s hand instead of just doing the first 100 graduates. Definitely made an impression on many of the 1000 graduates.

Love watching any top aerial team like that. I agree,, I'd try & stay away from the actual site.
But it's funny as heck about the car alarms.

When my son graduated Q's, it was H.W. Bush that shook each man's hand.
I retired after Somalia. I couldn't stomach working for Bill and Hill after that.

Our recent Buccaneer Days airshow on the Corpus Christi bay front, featured the Blue Angels. I didn't attend the Saturday / Sunday show, but watched their all day practice runs Friday, over my house - from my back porch. Many seemingly right off the deck. I'd have to agree with your assessment "What an awesome sight!!!"
A CLOSE UP view (rattle the garden furniture) of these teams in action, is truly impressive. American Air Power!

I remember watching both the Thunderbirds and Blue Angels perform in the F4. What a sight! What a ruckus! What a long time ago.

We drove a short distance from the kids house and joined 4-5 other rigs in a pullout to watch the show. It was great and we got more than our moneys worth with the lightening show back up in the mountains behind the Academy at the same time as the Thunderbirds were performing.
We were right above I-25 and we saw lights flashing on the interstate north of us and it was three CHP cars running dude by side holding traffic back and finally to a total stand still while the President and his motorcade left the Academy and headed south for the airport. After about 15 minutes the patrol cars moved out of the way and traffic started back up.

I wonder what the actual wing tip to wing tip spacing is?

Sitting outside Scheels watching the A/F Thunderbirds practicing for tomorrows graduation performance. Four just flew over so low they set of dozens of car alarms in the parking lot! What an awesome sight!!! Got a good chuckle as we sit in the driveway this morning minding our yard sale. A half-dozen A-10's roll by about 500 feet off the deck. No doubt they've just run maneuvers at the bombing range west of town. Somewhere down the street a car alarm goes off...

Many decades ago my wife and I would book our beach vacation at the Springs Mills Hotel and cottages in Myrtle Beach, SC right across 17 at the end of the runway because A-10s were based there at the time. There was nothing like fishing on Springmaid pier with A-10s climbing out over the ocean all day long. I'm sure I'm not the only one here that experienced this. An occasional F4 Phantom only sweetened the experience.

I wonder what the actual wing tip to wing tip spacing is? Just a few feet now, far closer than the T38s would dare as they were a lot harder to fly than the Viper.
