I like the gun but I’ve never seen a Bowen email like that. He typically charges $75 for a letter for provenance.

I like the gun but I’ve never seen a Bowen email like that. He typically charges $75 for a letter for provenance. Its not one his letters of provenance, notice how he makes a small comment that it was likely a Cimarron converted to 32-20 but might have had some Colt parts ungraded on it. Bowen would be very specific for a full build of his. The grips were also by Dan Pursley but then they toss in a couple bigger named grip makers saying they are "so good they could be". Its a slick gun that I would love to have in my safe but buy it for what a nice Cimarron is worth not a real Colt. He is pushing the sizzle over the steak a bit on this one but he does intend to actually sell it unlike all the other Bowens listed right now...

I have no doubt that David Carroll likely knows Bowen personally and he might get an email like that from him. Also, my dealings with David Carroll wouldn't lead me to believe he would fabricate an email like that. With that said, I agree with Fowler that there is some sizzle being pushed over the steak. I've put in my top bid, which is mainly because of the ivories. Doubt I'll come close to winning, but a custom Cimarron is still a Cimarron in my book.
