Damn.
Sad news indeed. Bart was a fine writer in his own right. Condolences to his family.

Had lunch with him once at the NRA show in Atlanta. Seemed like a real nice guy.

Someone find Taffin and roll him in bubble wrap 😎 Meant in good humor... No disrespect intended. And yes, lots of lights extinguishing sooner than we'd like.

Someone find Taffin and roll him in bubble wrap 😎 Meant in good humor... No disrespect intended. And yes, lots of lights extinguishing sooner than we'd like. And Humor is good, However i am with you on that one Bud. Let us all pray to the good LORD that he will leave the awsome stud John Taffin with us all a bit longer. And include his wife when your chattin with the Lord. Losing John Linebaugh was bad enough for me. I just wish when i talked to him a few days before his passing that i would have told him how much i loved him. Im sittin here looking at the box of grip frames i closed up for him and put a shipping label on the sunday he passed. Just havent had the heart to open back up and put them back on the shelf. Not taking this one well at all. I idolised him on my birthday, August 27th 1986 after reading Ross Seyfreids article and just dug the heck out of John when i talked to him a couple of weeks later. I had already started reverse engineering the article and he told me everything i was doing was spot on. I just had to have me a 500. Fired it a couple of months later and wow. I was hooked. Taffin, Just in case, I Love Your stuff man! You are Great. Been Following you for a long time. Hoping i get to meet you sir! R

Along these lines, Tiger McKee passed away. I enjoyed his ideology on 1911's.

Sad news. I followed his Dad’s writings and was glad to see him start writing also. I met and talked with him briefly at an NRA meeting in Houston several years ago. It was a chance meeting as he was talking to Joaquin Jackson when I walked up to get Joaquin to sign his book. He seemed like a nice guy. Gone too soon. R. I. P. Bart.

Wow, this is a shock. We're about the same age, kinda gets a guy to thinking...
I was just reading his book recently too, got it about 10 years back and thought it was time to revisit it.

To quote a recent statement from a friend; "Damn,, Just Damn."
I grew up reading Skeeter,, and when we lost him, I felt I'd lost a friend. I Met Skeeter once,, but never had the pleasure of meeting Bart. However,,, all I ever heard about Bart was good. I'm SURE Skeeter was very proud of his son.
And John,,, GREAT pictures. I realized that you & Jim were the only two left almost immediately. I saw Jim at SHOT this year. In fact,, we'd arrived at the airport in Vegas about the same time,, and as we awaited our taxi's, we were able to "catch up!"
But to lose Bart,, at such a young age,, Damn,, Just Damn.
Prayers go out to his family!

Madbo passing was very tough…but after today, I no longer feel “too young to start seeing my friends die off”…. Adios Compa…you will be missed…..
