So I got divorced in 2018. Met a girl not long after that. We met on Instagram, we both have Nokota horses. I had designed a buckle with the Nokota logo on it made by Olson Silver. Posted it on Instagram. She liked it and reached out to see if I minded if she used the same style to have one made for herself. Ended up getting together for dinner one night after she had it made (long distance relationship. She lived 4 hours from me.) Things went well and we started talking about getting hitched. She didn't want a diamond engagement ring but said just make me an engagement saddle. So I got myself on a waiting list to have a saddle made and figured I would fancy it up with a fancy horn cap with a diamond on it and custom matching concho's
So when I designed the horn cap and conchos, I used the belt buckle design as the foundation of the style for the horn cap and conchos. Kind of trying to tie everything in. When she had her buckle made, she used the black background, mine is made with a rust background color so I went with the black background to match her buckle.
I attached a picture of my buckle and the horn cap to show how I used the buckle to design the saddle conchos and horn cap.
So time passes and I'm waiting for them to start the saddle
In the meantime, I decided to move from upstate NY to Kalispell Montana and she was on board to move with me.
During my move, I lost a bearing on the horse trailer just east of Rapid City South Dakota. This was on a Saturday. I had to wait until Monday to get it fixed. While waiting for my trailer to be repaired, she called and broke up with me, on the phone, in the middle of moving my entire life cross country.
Guess it wasn't meant to be.
Her loss is someone else's gain.
So back to the post title.
