Looks like someone beat a H&R revolver with an ugly stick to me.

They should sell the design to Heritage. It definitely looks like a $200 gun

I'm surprised by the high msrp as well.
But... No Ceracoat,no pot metal - you guys expecting this for under $400 are just not being realistic.

Still, no way.
Charter is a US company and makes decent revolvers implementing many of the same cost-savings measures I see in this revolver and you can get one for under $400. The 3" 357 I am shooting now was something like $350 0r $360 a couple years ago and looks much more refined. I have nothing against the cost-cutting measures implemented in the Henry, but I'm not paying that for a "cheap gun" when I could get a Colt or Kimber for that kind of cash.
I think that production-grade Rugers, Smiths, Colts and Kimbers at the $1k mark are way out of line to begin with.
More subjectively, as much as I like my cheap revolvers," even at the cost of them not looking like "a perfect ten," like a Smith or a Colt, I'd hide that Henry under a gun rig if a friend showed up at the range, even if it DID shoot and was $350.
Mr. Imperato is no dummy, so this is actually kind of scary.

Likewise, I hope Henry doesn't "expect" many shooters to pay Colt, S&W, Ruger and Kimber Prices for a H&R Gun. I think most consumers are smarter than this. As others have said, I don't mind paying a Refined Gun Price for a Refined Gun. But... I'd recommend chambering this gun for the 30 Super Carry. Suspect they'll both be headed in the same direction. Of course, compensated gun writers will make claims it's the best thing since pockets on a shirt. Time will tell the story...

You guys misunderstand me. I am NOT trying to justify $928.
Also, what you paid for something "a couple years ago" is largely irrelevant in this era of hyperinflation.

Ugly and Expensive, I might like that birdshead grip frame, though. The blue 22s and the long ranger are the only guns henery makes I might buy. All the Gold just turns me away. However If I got my hands on a 44 mag , blue with side gate , and drilled everything I shot at, It might grow on me quick ! ...t

My last sentence is exactly what you're talking about.
"Mr. Imperato is no dummy, so this is actually kind of scary."
If $1k is what a CHEAP gun is going to cost now, we're in trouble.

I was excited that it was a .357 until I saw the price. Waaay out of line. Same thing that keeps me from the Homesteader in favor of my Ruger PCC, I just feel they’re priced above the market. At least my market. At least the homesteader looks more refined than the Ruger carbine, and lots of folks still like nice wood stocks (it’s still more than I’d pay for what it is, I agree). BUT, these revolvers are ugly ducklings, and aren’t even “full featured”. No ejector shroud, nothing. As many said it’s like an old H&R or Iver Johnson revolver. I bet they sell ten at full price to Henry lunatic fanboys and the rest get transferred to CDNN and sell for $250 ten years from now.

OWEN67: I TOO LIKE THE RETRO LOOKS OF THE HOMESTEADER BUT I AIN'T BUYING A 9mm CARBINE. AND TO ME, THE NEW REVOLVERS JUST DO NOT LOOK RIGHT. I AM THIKING THAT HENRY SCREWED UP ON THIS NEW REVOLVER VENTURE.

I'm finding more wrong than right there. They need to erase everything that isn't a Colt Lawman, and start over. I bet that saw-handle protrusion at the top of the grip would get old quick, shooting full power 180 grain 357s. There's even a nice screw hole there, to add to the fun.
Imperato donates to a lot of good causes but that boy needs to be chained up in the Texas Rangers museum until he learns what a revolver and lever action rifle are supposed to look like.

I’d like to try that birshead grip but no way I’m paying anywhere near MSRP for one of those.
