I've had my first and only small bore revolver a Colt New Frontier .22 mag since, well since I can remember. I got it because it looked like a firing version of my first BB pistol, which was a Daisy Co2 (I still have that too) revolver with fake stag grips. It does not have a box, or tags but it has LOTS of wear marks and it makes me smile every time I hold it.

post JUST 4 SA 22's RESIDE HERE, TOP TO BOTTOM: 1) A RUGER SINGLE SIX 9.5" 22MAG/22lr, SHOWN WITH THE 22 MAG CYLINDER, A 2 DOGS FS, SOME HOLLY WOOD GRIPS BY SIXSHOT AND A No. 5 STYLE BELT MOUNAIN BASE PIN. THIS IS A GOOD CANDIDATE FOR A GRIFFIN HILL MOUNT AND A BURRIS FFIII. 2) A RUGER 6.5" FLAT TOP BISLEY IN 22lr, WITH A No. 5 STYLE BELT MOUNTAIN BASE PIN AND WEARING SAMBAR STAG GRIPS. I DID NOT HAVE TO MESS WITH THE SIGHTS AS IT SHOOTS TO THE SIGHTS AT 25 YARDS, AND VERY ACCURATELY, USING 36gr AMMO. MY No. 1 22lr, SA, DA ANY ACTION. I LOVE THIS GUN AND IT IS A FANTASTIC SHOOTER. 3) A RUGER SINGLE SIX 5.5" 22MAG/22lr, SHOWN WITH THE 22lr CYLINDER, A 2 DOGS FS, SOME HOLLY WOOD GRIPS BY SIXSHOT AND A No. 5 STYLE BASE PIN BY BELT MOUNTAIN. I RETAUGHT MYSELF HOW TO SHOOT BLACKHAWK SINGLE ACTIONS WITH THIS FINE SHOOTER 4) MY LOWLY 4 5/8ths" 22lr WRANGLER. I NEED TO SPEND SOME TIME ON THIS ONE FINDING SOMETHING IT MAY SHOOT TO THE SIGHTS. I BOUGHT IT BECAUSE OF THE LOW PRICE. NEED TO GET IT "SIGHTED IN" SO I CAN PASS IT ON TO A GRANDKID.

Be careful what you wish for. I wanted this M97 22LR in a fixed sight model, with the dovetailed front sight, but Freedom couldn't offer that configuration. So I set about some way to get the look I wanted. A no sight option eliminated that large horrendous front sight base and allowed for the dovetailed front sight. This would let the lines of the octo barrel shine. Now the rear. I reduced the height of the rear sight blade by about a third and narrowed it about a quarter inch to get it low and within the profile of the top strap. I radiused the sharp edges to smooth the sight. A plater applied a brushed nickel finish to the rear sight base to blend it better with the top strap. There, now the rear would work, and I'd have the advantage of a target grade sight picture. Added fluting to the cylinders so it could catch light from many angles and sparkle like the diamond it is. 3# trigger with overtravel screw and the black micartas to complete the look. Something is missing? Oh yeah, the cylinders are off to Bowen tomorrow for black powder chamfering. I didn't get what I wished for, but what I got was even better. My fourth Freedom 22, one is their centerfire. imgur.com/a/gDB4rOh

Have bookmarked this thread. Today I sent a box full of parts off to Hamilton Bowen to get something done that should be pretty neat when it gets back and I have no idea how long that will be

I'll post pictures later. Nothing custraom but I have two single sixes that are special to me. One is a 1955 (I think) flat gate with factory stag grips that was my paternal grandpa's. The blueing is gone but that's okay with me since it was my dad that wore it off . That one officially belongs to my 11 year old son since he was around and remembers his great grandpa Kay. The other one is a bicentennial model that belonged to my maternal grandpa and is now going to my 7 year old son. Which means the 3 year old precious princess will have to settle for grandpa Kay's high standard sport king ! My lesson learned, buy good equipment and your grandchildren and even great grandchildren will thank you.
