Just received this 1979 Colt Trooper in .22LR today. A little muzzle wear and a turn line, but. Beautiful blued steel/wood vintage gun. Gonna make a fine plinker.

Colt used to use 22 Mag blanks for 22 LR barrels. Put it on the target and tell us if it's so...........please.

One brother had an 8"? barrel .22 Colt Trooper bought new probably in the 80's. Don't remember the model. Maybe 3? Went to another brother when he died back in 1995. Doubt if it's been shot since. I guess I should check on it...

That Trooper Mark III is gorgeous. Nice looking finish. Those grips look to be from a Colt Diamondback? They are one of my favorites off any gun. Those grips get expensive and are very hard to find.
I also enjoy the Trooper and the Trooper V. Trooper came out in the same time period (mid 1950's) when the Colt 3 5 7 came out and then the Python.
The Trooper was less expensive than the 3 5 7 and the Python was fancier than the 3 5 7. Sitting between those 2 killed the 3 5 7; which is one of my favorites.
