feeling like a big dummy today... the outside forklift was out of LP gas, at work, this morning, so I had to carry a bottle over to the other warehouse, that it was parked inside... we've been getting pretty frosty trees the last couple days, & there is a fresh coating of this "fluff" on top of all, the ice... yep, I fell, while I was carrying the LP bottle, & I landed on the tank, with my ribs... knocked the wind out of me ( I hate that ) & I must have bruised, cracked, or broke a few ribs... not gone to the doctor, no breathing problems, after I got my wind back, but man did I stiffen up, sitting at my desk, after bouncing across the lot for a half hour on the fork lift...
careful out there on the slippery stuff... I normally don't have an issue walking when it's slippery, but was carrying a full LP bottle must have gotten me off balance... feeling old right now

Bounce or bend,…..I sprained my ankle on a relatively simple creek crossing, rather mundane slip down the creek ledge, no immediate issues but 2 days later, Holy crap!!! I’ve taken to trying to note when I do stuff like that because it winds up being a couple days later that the pain starts and I can’t recall how it happened. 3-4 weeks later and I’m finally back to walking somewhat normally, luckily still had my walking cast and crutches from my ankle break, a couple years ago. Have been wearing Chippewa snake boots for the last several years around he ranch, mainly for brush protection than snakes. They offer little to no ankle support, may need to switch to lace ups for the future, also need to replace my worn out Danner Pronghorns.

Ouch. Too late to say, be careful ! Mid covid I was reaching over the atv's trailer and it has mesh metal side boards so it can carry more leaves and light stuff. Feet slid out from under me and the rail caught under my lowest rib and broke it n pushed it up and under the next higher rib. Just a little "pop" and done. Getting a finger up and under it to pry it mostly back into place HURT ! I saw stars, vision got wavy, saw most of the original Flash Gordon movie.. Called Doc, he said no blood coming up, wrap it and call us after covid.. 2yrs later, got a bit of a lump where end of rib not quite in original place.

my collar bone looks like that road "dragon's tail" the slalom guys like to drive & my sternum has a big calcium deposit on the bottom, from repeated breakage, back in my karate sparring years... we'll be sliding into the "pearly gates" with a pretty used & abused "chassis"

Yep an X-ray is good. Ask how I know 🤣 I didn’t and then a week later sneezed and tore it all apart. Fun memory 🤦🏻♂️

Appreciate the concern, but think I’ll be fine ok… been bouncing around on the fork lift 1/2 the day( already sneezed once )
Pretty in touch with my body( lots of previous pain experiences)… right now I’m still doing everything.., may need to take it easy to heal though

Yup - Just before deer season I slipped, tripped, and ended up breaking my leg a little. Still went hunting and all, but I gotta admit i am still gimping around some, and I don't think misery slippers are in play this year if the snow gets that deep! I miss the days when I still bounced.

Hope you feel better soon. Invest in a dolly for the tank. It’s use is mandatory where I am employed.

I feel better today... I expected I'd be really stiff over night... I couldn't get comfortable in bed, CPAP didn't help... I was glad we had the old Sleep Number mattress & I could make the bed firmer... I'm a side sleeper, & I couldn't lay on either side, until I firmed up the mattress... I could lay on my back, but for some reason the CPAP was a little wonkie when I was laying on my back
pain pill free, as I'm on a full Asprin daily, after my stroke, & with the meds I'm on, they don't like me taking Tylenol... I didn't want to take another NSAID, since I'm likely at least with bruised ribs, & already on Asprin
we have a couple 2 wheel carts... I'm a big guy, & don't often take them outside... definately would right now, not just because I fell, but because I'm still sore

Hi... I know how you feel. I got wiped out by my yellow Lab in the yard a couple of days ago. Fell through my wife's rose bushes and hit pretty hard on my right shoulder. Been in constant pain ever since...shoulder aches constantly, lower back hurts no matter what I do and numerous sore spots on my arms and legs. At 68 years old, I should not be playing full contact sports with semi frozen ground. At least, I didn't hit my head on anything that could have been broken by being subjected to forcible contact with a rock hard object.

I'm glad you landed on top of the cylinder, it could've been really bad had the cylinder landed on you. Heal well, I'm glad it wasn't worse. Be careful folks, the doctors can put Humpty Dumpty back together again, but it sure isn't fun.

It’s for sure gonna take a long time to heal…. I was feeling pretty good ( pain wise ) yesterday, was sitting in my recliner watching the Vikings lose, & sneezed at half time, with my little lap dog on my lap, and freshened the breaks… almost starting over as far as pain again last night…. Sneezing is bad

Have you tried wrapping your chest tight with ACE bandages? When I broke 4 ribs in a car accident they gave me a "girdle" looking thing that really helped. I hate it happened to you but it could have been worse.

I guess if I was going to break anything, I'm glad it's just ribs... I'm still fully functional, albeit slower, & in pain, I'm still working, & doing chores... trying not to pick up anything, that hurts my ribs... I just had to change another forklift gas tank in the sleet, this morning... way, much more careful today, & picking up, & putting a full tank on the lift, is as heavy, & as high, as I'd want to do right now...
sneezed again, while I was on the lift, wish I could quit doing that for at least a few weeks
