And the base pin isn’t pushed in all the way in either gun. I think they ran 250 or 500 of each and they sold instantly. Why they have it made any more is beyond me but then what Rugers production runs have been a bit odd to figure for a few years.

I have one of the 480's, they did a good job on this one.

Every one of these I have seen, Ruger over machined the valley leading to the bolt stop notch--Gentlemen--I need some help with the proper terminology here...
You can see this condition in the pictures on both of the revolvers that are linked here.
I own a .480 with a 4 5/8" barrel and this condition is present on mine as well.

I had a .454 that I sold on Gunbroker earlier in the year. Had been fired sparingly and was still in the box. I put a $1395 buy now on it and it sold less than an hour after listing. I was surprised and happy. Helped fund a backpacking trip to Montana with two of my boys.

"Helped fund a backpacking trip to Montana with two of my boys."
Good stuff. I had a Bowen bisley 45 I got from a guy that sold it for an elk hunt with his boy.
I'm guessing for what these are gonna go for Zebra could make you one.

I'm guessing for what these are gonna go for Zebra could make you one. Funny thing is, I had strongly considered carrying that .454 Bisley on that backpacking trip, but opted instead for a Linebaugh .475 that had found its way here a while ago. Either way, the .454 was going to help make the trip happen. We wound up seeing only one black bear and her cub on the first day of the trip, but no bears the rest of the time. Saw LOTS of sign, though, some of it from HUGE bears. And got roared at by a grizz, I am pretty sure, on day 3. He was upslope of the trail in heavy timber and must have winded us. That got my heart pounding for a while. I really did want to see a grizzly on that trip, but my ideal scenario was us up on one of the mountain passes, looking down on the bear in a direction we weren't going. lol

Maybe the price will come on back down and I will get one in the next couple months. Or one of each.

Mine’s not rare or desirable. It’s just plain ugly! But it’s working out pretty well for blasting pesky beavers tearing up my pond. Tim

Tim with a stainless gun…. It just seems wrong. Mine’s not rare or desirable. It’s just plain ugly! But it’s working out pretty well for blasting pesky beavers tearing up my pond. Tim
