Just picked this .22 Magnum Pathfinder up. Came with original box and the bill of sale from 1978. Cost $120 back then. These old Charter guns are of outstanding quality and are just plain cool.

My relationship with Charter arms is more of a Love/Hate kind of thing. They make some good ones, and they make some BAAAAAAAAAAD ones. But at least if the address on the barrel says Sheldon,CT they are very good at taking care of you. Older guns you are kind of on your own.

I had one like that in 22 LR, but with the original "Pocket Target" name on the barrel.
I love the Charters - the old ones especially. Mr. Ecker makes a decent effort, but the older ones were better guns.

The one in my vest pocket right now says, Stratford Conn., on it. Holes are bigger too.

I love Charters. I know the ones to avoid. The good ones are great however. There are a few that have eluded me. I'll find them sooner or later.

Niece and family due here over the holidays. Her husband the guy I gave my Boomer to. He has 3 of my loved ones to watch over. Hope he brings it up so I can play with it again. The Boomer has to be one of the rarer even if newer C.A.'s . Seldom mentioned.

I had an “Undercover” many years ago. It was very accurate, at least when my eyes were young. It developed a hitch in the cylinder movement and I traded it away.

From the time the .44 Bulldog first was released, I owned one. I've owned many Charters of all flavors, but mostly the earlier models. They've all been perfect in performance.
