Here is a rimfire HP die & shell holder my son made a couple of days ago from scratch. He shot 2 Cottontails with his model 52 Winchester yesterday using the new ammo, worked pretty good!! Dick

Does it work on a solid bullet or does it have to be an existing HP?? I could use one for subsonic solids when I destructive animal abate some areas.

I think there are a few of us thinking the same way. Is it possible?

Trapr, my oldest son is a long time gunsmith & he seen a profile of this somewhere & decided to build one. It's for HP'ing 22 soft points, sure works slick.

Very cool.
I got interested in altering .22lr bullets this summer and it’s put me down quite a rabbit hole.

Dick, if he decides to build another I’d be very interested.

If you’re making a list, I would be interested as well.

Member here Jack made some 22Hp die’s! I bought a setup and so far have failed to use them. Thanks for the reminder to get them out and do something!

My son sold his CNC a few years ago & building one these is a full days job on the lathe & mill, my son said it would be too expensive to try & sell these at the rate machinists have to charge.

Yeah, the amount of shop time that would take is cost prohibitive for sure. His work is always impressive! I think I have an extra 22lr shell holder I could have sent him to save a few minutes!

Can't remember where I saw this, but there was a "die" that you placed a 22RF shell into and the bullet would protrude out of the opposite end which you then would cut off what stuck out. The attached article also had before and after photos of clay blocks showing how much this modification added to the expansion of the clay; it was significant. Sort of like a mini SWC bullet but with out a shoulder. Would be pretty easy to make this type of tool.

Paco Kelly has made one for years like you mention, and so has Gary Reeder.
