When I carry my .44 SBH with 3.75” barrel, I use a Mernikle sourdough pancake, it can be strong side or cross draw. It holds that heavy revolver tight and doesn’t allow any flopping

It holds that heavy revolver tight and doesn’t allow any flopping My reference to flopping around was more the holster with the gun, not the gun in the holster. Wide belt loop spacing of a pancake helps with that, still proper belt size to belt loop helps tremendously as well. trapr

In the woods during the summer I use a 120 Lawrence on one of their cartridge belts. When I am elk hunting with a rifle, I carry a back-up on my Nimrod pack, they have a holster option that goes on the pack belt that is fairly handy and carry a cartridge wallet with extra ammo in my back pocket.

El Paso Saddlery Tom Threepersons holsters, either strong side or crossdraw. All of my centerfires are Sheriff Models. The Single six also has the same type of holster.

I've got 2 Simply Rugged Cattleman holsters, one for my full size Blackhawk, and one for my Flattop. They work pretty well for what I do. Still would like to get one for my Bisley.

Thank you Longoval, Dan and Trapr for the warm welcome and and the assitamce and advice from your experience. Everyone on this forum seems extremely knowledgable, enthusiastic and civil. I didn’t know such a place existed in the world, let alone this country, let alone the internet…. Sorry to hijack. It is really cool to see everyone’s responses and preferences in their carry options. It is extremely helpful.

Concealed, IWB Fist brand leather for my 1911s. I have a homemade IWB for the J frame in hot, shorts weather, pocket holster for winter in my coat. For knocking about with revolvers, a Tom Threeperson or a pancake. Percussion revolvers go in a Slim Jim. For strictly hunting, I have an old tanker repop, the 1st type with a single strap. I cut a little bit of the stitching by the trigger guard and made a slightly longer detention strap. It carries EVERYTHING I hunt with; 1911s, 4⅝ Super Blackhawk, mountain gun, Ruger Old Army, and percussion revolvers. A truly versatile rig, even though it's not a showpiece. Some nice holsters on here. Good leather is as pleasing to look at as a nice firearm.

A Hill People gear pouch. I think it is a sport model. I waterproofed it with spray. Not the best but ok. I chose the HPG because I ride a ATV and usually on Florida dusty timber company limestone hard packed dusty roads. I am not always in the lead and eat a lot of dust. Hogs are always targets of opportunity. It's out of the elements and handy.

Really liking the chest rig made by member Bigbore on here. Well made and carries high and tight out of the way, but still draws well with even a 9-1/2" barrel.

Just got word from Alex at American Classic Gunleather that my holster was finished. Just to make me anxious, he sent me this picture. Even used the original George Lawrence floral carving pattern. Attachments:

Alex private messaged me and said that he used a de-constructed George Lawrence #120 to get all the details correct. Style of floral carving, general shape, length of strap, etc. I requested a medium brown rather than the original Mahogany-ish color. I also asked for a neutral cant, rather than the forward cant of the original. I think he did an excellent job of preserving the integrity of the original design. I was very pleased.
