You pretty much nailed it. I was considering a 500S&W low pressure gun, but why go with a .500 when you can go .510!

That is right. The larger 5 shot conversions require the frame window opened up so the serial number needs to be low enough on the side of the frame to allow the enlargement without getting into the serial number.

Oh, I thought there was a difference in the frame structure/thickness itself. Wasnt aware of the different positioning of the numbers..
