Out of all of the brothers’ guns, there are only two I have much interest in. One is a Winchester 94/22 mag and the other is a Winchester 94/22 LR. If I only want to buy one, which would you guys recommend?

Is this a treasure, or a shooter??? If it's not shot much, then the mag... if it's something you would shoot all the time, them the LR

I have both, but if I had to pick one it would be the 22LR. 9422's are very nicely made quality rifles that will last several lifetimes. Mine just needed trigger jobs. Accuracy is the same for both... Around 1" 5 shot groups at 50 yards, but with the round forend I find that they shoot much better when I hold the forend and rest my hand on the front bag.
22 LR ammo is so much cheaper and easier to get, and the rifle is FUN to shoot. I find that I rarely shoot the 22 mag, just the 22LR...

Either would make a great gun, I’d see which has fewer available and go with it. I’ve seen way more 22wmr than 22lr, on the 94/22 platform. The 22wmr I had would do 1.5” at 100 with an optic on it.

If only one, the LR. But I would feel really bad leaving the other behind. Both is the answer.

Both are fine examples. The 22 LR would get way more use in my book. I have several mags that see a box or two every decade or so while the LRs see bi-monthly use.

Well I worked a deal and traded a piece of furniture I made for most of one of the guns and she offered me the other one for moving nearly 100 guns in less than two months without any GB fees, auction house fees or consignment costs. Thanks to guys line you it has raised nearly $60,000 for Glenn’s care so far with just one handgun and four rifles left to sell

With my 65 year old eyes I decided I would order one of the Skinner rimfire sights to try on one of these rifles. I am curious to see how it works for me since I am having one installed on a Marlin 41 Cowboy gun that Ben Forkin is building as well.

Hijack. Many shades of hair ago my employer asked me to find a gun as a thank you for the shop foreman. I found a near new 9422M in a pawn shop. Owner scoffed at the thought of a "used" gun. I got it for me for 400.00.
