Okay guys, I think my Lee Auto Prime is finally wore out after 35 years of use. I bought a Lee Auto Prime 2 when they came out and I was kinda underwhelmed. I am looking for a new tool. I know that the big name loading company's all make thier version of the Auto-Prime, but I see so many mixed reviews. The Frankford Arsenal Platinum Series is interesting and seems well thought out. BTW, I use my hand tool for rifle reloading, both large and small primers. .22Hornet to .458Lott. What are you guys using?

Three versions of the RCBS Hand Priming tools which include, the standard model, the universal model, and the bench model. They all work perfectly well.

I have been using that Frankford Aresenal platinum for several years, comes with all the shell holders, and is built like a tank, I highly recommend it

I like the Frankford just fine but my Hornady hand primer still gets used often. Both work great.

I made a point to pick up more of the old Lee hand primers when my first one split the metal body.
In the meantime I got a good deal on a K&M with depth gauge, which isn't really useful unless you uniform primer pockets for depth AND sort your primers for height. It sees use as a crush seater if I'm not feeling confident in the seating done on a progressive.
The goal is just to find a tool that allows for good tactile feedback on crush seating.

I have a couple K&Ms and like them a lot. Very good quality.

I use the RCBS Universal Hand Primer and have no issues with it. I have the RCBS bench primer too that I am very happy with.

I was very happy with my Lee Auto Prime but after the second one failed I purchased the RCBS Hand Priming Tool and have been generally satisfied with it. I recently acquired the RCBS Bench Priming Tool and have no complaints at all, although I still use my Hand Priming Tool for small batches of rifle ammo.

K&M for me. I like them so much I have 2, one set up for large and the other set up for small primers. Been using them for 15+ years. Love the ergonomics and the extremely robust construction.
Prior to that I used the Lee hand prime since the mid 1970's. They worked fine, but the handles eventually broke. Not a big issue back when they cost $1.99.

I use the "old" RCBS Posi-Prime...the one before they added the weird metal arch. I don't need the ability to attach a primer feed tray...don't like the thought of that many little explosive devices that close to my hands....

I switched over to a Primal Rights CPS a couple years ago and really like it. Depending on what you’re loading, it has adjustable primer depth settings etc to run your load if you need to check different primer seating depths. Very positive “feel” etc. they are not cheap but extremely well constructed and does a great job and pretty fast. I think you can buy them at Grafs or direct. www.primalrights.com/store/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=134
