Here lies a question.Just about every gunsmith says "bisley supplied guns only"for all conversions over 45colt.For me a 45colt load 310 over 24gr of H110 for 1310fps in a NMB with a hunter grip conversion is more controlable and easier on my middle knuckle than a bisley 44 loaded 305 over 19gr of H110 for 1242fps which also gashes my trigger finger after 25 shots or so.
I have shot a couple of Johns (500 & 475) guns and they shoot great but are hard on the trigger finger and middle knuckle. Is there anyone who would build a larger caliber on a different grip frame. For me a hunter style grip frame is almost perfect, 1/2" longer would be .A 500jrh or 475 or 5shot 45colt are what I am considering if that helps.

I suspect that Alan Harton will build a 475 or 500 in any form you want.

A milestone indeed, but he doesn't get his prize until he tops 1,379...

I think they all would build you a big gun on whatever grip frame you wanted if you explained to them why you don't want a Bisley. We are not all built the same way, I personnally don't want anything bigger than a 44sp without the Bisley frame so to each his own...

I wasn't paying attention to the post count thing, honestly. I guess I talk too much - my bad.
I also wasn't paying attention to the OP's needs.
cottonstalk -are you aware the BFR is available in all those calibers you noted and it has a SBH grip frame/hammer?

Hey John that was my first thought. But I think after you try a 475 or 500 on a SBH grip you may go back to the Bisley grip. Also Have you tried the FA grip? Its similar to the Bisley but not exact.

To the OP, get the right gripon the Bisley and you won't have that problem. A 475 RBH hurts. A slightly reworked Bisley won't and is much more controlable. Shot them a lot, go woth the Bisley. Physics is a law.
