What do you guys recommend for an easy to use chrome out of the current crop available. I don’t need something that syncs to the cloud or anything special like that. I’m fine with old fashion writing down the numbers but easy if set up and operation are more important features for this old guy.

FOR SIMPLICITY ESPECIALLY WHEN USING BLACK POWER I GO WITH THE SHOOTING CHRONY--WHEN I WANT EVERYTHING I USE THE LABRADAR. I DON'T LIKE TO USE IT FOR BLACKPOWERE BECAUSE IT IS RIGHT NEXT TO THE SIXGUN AND GETS HIT WITH ALL THE FOULING.

I thought that Chrony went out of business??? I bought an F1 when they first came out. Some guy at the range with a Caldwell suggested that I'd be better off just guessing as there would be no way that silly little thing could be accurate.
So... I put mine right behind his and we shot everything from a pellet pistol to 44 mags, and whatever rifle he had across both of them at the same time. The most the chrony was off was 1fps from his display.
He stormed off saying that didn't prove anything.
I currently have a Beta Master. I have never had one break, but a few of my buddies shot them. I used their money to upgrade from the old F1

That must be pretty recent.

Competition Electronics,…99.99. And when used properly has given me the same results as the double chrono set up that is used for USPSA matches. I’ve had mine since 1998, still ticking along, 9 volt battery, and no issues this far.

My Chrono is older than the current crop od them. I have an Ohler 35P model. Not cheap. Top notch quality. Does the stuff I need.

Another vote for the Competition Electronics...very simple to setup and use. Have had mine at least 20 years.
Two or three of my friends have them and zero issues...

One more for competition electronics. But the Labradar intrigues me.

Been extremely pleased with my Labradar and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it. Fast setup, easy to use and nearly impossible to shoot by accident.

I've been using a Shooting Chrony since/from way back before cell phones and when Blue Tooth was a Viking. BIG LCD readout. You'll need such peripheral devices as a pencil and paper to record the readings. I created a spreadsheet to do the calculations, so there's the extra work of "data entry" once I get back in the house where there's a real computer.
I just did a quick search and there are a LOT of affordable chronographs out there. I had no idea, so I won't recommend the Chrony over any of them, because they may be better these days. I'm happy with mine. It's dodged a lot of bullets over the years.
I did have to make up a shield to protect it from black powder residue pelting the snot out of it.

I ordered extra diffuser panels etc several years ago and am glad I did. I have read on several gun forums that Shooting Chrony no longer answers their phone/is out of business. I have gotten used to mine and hated to hear that.

I recently switched to the Labradar (lite, I don't need cloud stuff either), and it is by far the fastest easiest most accurate chrono I have used. Setup is less than a minute, and I love seeing true muzzle velocity plus downrange velocity. Worth every penny.

I have a Labradar. If I didn't have this I'd buy an Oehler
