I know y’all know the answer. Can a Ruger Single Six in .32 mag be safely converted to .327 Fed by simply lengthening the chambers ?

Will need to have a new cylinder! Andy Horvath did one for me... Ah, never thought about that. I had a .32 mag once and sold it. Regretted it ever since. I have a chance to get another one now and would like to put a birdshead grip on it and shorten the barrel. I might just leave the cylinder as is and load the .32 mag as necessary, as in hot or not. I have no truly custom revolvers and I’m looking at this one as a first (and probably last).

It can be done & has been done. The 32M is short so it will have limitations on length of 327M ammo.
With that said, the reason givin for going to 7 shot cylinders was to re-locate the cylinder bolt notches over a beefier location on the cylinder.
IMO ,,, WHY?,,, when you can hand load 32M to seriously performance levels.

Funny, just got back from the range shooting Fiocchi 32 S&W Long wadcutters in my SS 32 mag...dropping it off with Bowen on Thursday for some work...my 10 year beanpole son loved those rounds and had a blast with it.

It is a slippery slope my friend. I also said the same thing about my first Shiloh Sharps

You can make a Single Six 32 mag get within a 100-150fps or so of what the 327 loaded to. I have been playing with the 327 pretty seriously over the last few years. I like it a lot but without getting a custom cylinder made you gain nothing. You can load bullets long in a 32 mag case and accomplish the same velocities.

It looks like I’m getting this SS in.32 Mag and I’m gonna leave it stock except for the grip frame and shortening the barrel, ejector rod housing and ejector rod. Next question is; am I gonna have to have a different height front sight ? I’m thinking yes, but I don’t know for sure. Need some advice from the pros !
