I had an excellent day today. I had phone visits with Jason Cloesner, Mike Barranti, Ronnie Wells, my new friend JeffH, Rob Leahy, RobM, Dusty Hooley, Ryan Ross, Matt Peake, my big brother Henry and Bill Fowler. I took Cheesecake to my favorite nurses, my wife, and to the guys at my favorite gun shop. Plus I took the gun shop owner to lunch. I visited with his 2 sons and staff who are all close friends. My friend Longoval came by the shop and he helped me built him a custom pin in blade for his S&W and together plotted and conspired on future projects. He and I have so much shooting to do….I also picked up the SP101 that Axehandle was kind enough to test fire for me. He is a splendid shot despite his old age and feeble state but I digress…I also managed to get a little shop work done as well.
So tell me about your exceptional day!

Sounds like a full day but you didn’t call me 🤷🏻♂️ I was trashy for a while today at the job site then chambered a 308 lightweight hunting rifle and started a collet for some ruger handgun barrels. Kings6 will like the collet setup! Not near as full a day as you had 😜

Good day bug nothing exceptional. Processed the last of the dried lavender bundles and mowed and edged before we take off for CO to help the kids move and work on their house. Taking the long way do we can visit a friend in the Bitterroot Valley then east to Cody for a day of so to visit the museum and see Dustin and Gus, his orphaned wonder horse then down to Colorado Springs and Denver to see the kids. I just need to get a final work list from Sis do I know which tools to pack in the truck.

Monday I had a fantastic day! We went to my wife’s liver doctor in Gainesville and they said her MELD score dropped from 14 to 9 which means there has been improvement and she was taken off the transplant list! Oh, and I bought some guns too

HAH! I was thinking the same thing! I told my wife how this famous gun smith from Texas called and made this old hillbilly with a hacksaw and a couple files feel pretty good about his work. THAT made MY day - my WEEK. And I didn't even get to talk to all those other fine fellas. Most enjoyable real discussion I've had in a long time - with someone who likes stuff I like. I got the "that's nice, dear" look. She just doesn't get that, but she's still OK.
Got talked into more work in the process and all the little excursions (escapes) my brain takes between "tasks" went right back to it - gears grinding, brain cells busy sorting details. I'll resolve final details and get my part done, but it's cool having a first-class 'smith mentoring and encouraging, so I won't complain about the work. That's a lot of validation for a project on such a humble gun in having someone of that caliber weigh in and help out. I am not surprised at all though, given the exceptional character of those who hang out here.
Yessirs, that made my day to the point that I don't even remember what else happened to me or what I did yesterday.
Made MY day.

Had a fairly low key day.
Breakfast consisted of bacon & eggs, with a bowl of oatmeal over sliced banana, blue berries, black berries, strawberries, along with some crushed walnuts & pecans.
Girlfriend & I took the little dog to the local park for a walk. Met a few nice people while we were there.
Went home & had a simple lunch.
Then we went to the local range where she tried the 50yd steel. She connected with about half or more of her shots. Determined the front sight needs to be drifted left a bit.
Now she & the little dog are taking a nap, while I enjoy a cup of coffee & surf the 'net.
I appreciate low key days. Been a while since we've had one.

Dustin’s kept me updated as Gus grows but to see him just wandering through the shop then out the door makes me laugh. I guess he want too keen on having elk quarters loaded on his back this fall Dustin said. Since they didn’t make it back to camp before dark they built a big fire and stayed out one night. I can just see Gus trying crawl into Dustin’s lap when the coyotes started howling!

I had a good day and a sad day. My 24 year old son (only child) moved out today. He bought a house about 30 miles away and is planning on getting married next year. He has been my constant “little buddy” since he was born. We have spent thousands of hours together hunting, fishing, shooting and riding dirt bikes. I’m going to miss having him here but I’m very proud of the young man he has become.

Well, day 2 here. My wonderful better half & I went "loafing" most of the day together. That meant we went into several gun shops, and some thrift stores. I scored a little pewter, (casting material,) and a OEM magazine to use in my PCC. Then I found a SWEET deal in a NICE Sig 320 that I'll set up for the carry optics division in USPSA. Since it's in my neighboring state,, it has to be shipped home. Should have it in hand by Wed or Thursday. We capped off the day in a nice upscale restaurant enjoying Elk tenderloin for dinner.
Exceptional days are the ones we can just be together, enjoying each other's company, loafing around & no worries. I've had 2 days in a row like that.

Lol Tell them Bob says hi......and a pallet is heading his way soon
