Can anything be done about the trigger on a BL-22? I like the rifles, the light weight the magazine tube clip, but I don't like the trigger pull. My local gunsmith says he doesn't work on them. Any ideas?

I had a Grade 2 over 20 years ago. Beautiful rifle and I loved the short lever throw but the trigger was not good. Actually sold it because I could never get it to shoot better than 2” groups at 25 yds. Hope yours does better

unfortunately it's not uncommon with rimfires, that require a stronger hammer spring to dent the rim sufficiently... primers seem to be easier to dent, & thus require less spring to be reliable... the more main spring, the harder it is to get that nice trigger we all like

A Henry youth model, a Winchester 9422M, Ruger 96 rimfire and a Marlin 39. They all have better triggers than the Browning.

I also have a BL-22 with a 9lb trigger pull. The earlier guns had a good trigger pull, the newer ones, not so much. The BL-22 is actually, terrible, and that is being kind. The only rational explanation for the heavy trigger, is that the lawyers got involved. I did find some information on the web about working on the Browning's trigger, but there are a lot of little fiddly parts, and I have not talked myself into attempting the job. It's kind of a "if it's not broke, don't fix it" deal with me. The Winchester 94-22 and Henry guns also have good triggers. The Henrys actually have a great trigger when you look a the price of the gun.
