I sold off my only 2 - 44 magnums during my "sell off" 2 years ago, kinda missing a 44 Magnum... It looks like the BFR custom shop is not taking orders right now???. so I may have to buy a standard Bisley 44 Magnum & make a few changes to make it my own... looks like the 7.5" barrels are most available & thus more reasonably priced... my other 2 BFR's are black scaled Bisleys I was kinda wanting the new one to match, but may have to do custom grips, if the custom shop stays down for any length of time... also my barrels are shorter than standard, I think I want the barrel 5"-5.5"... a 5" looks to match the ejector housing, of course this means I'd be needing another taller 2 dogs sight so a 44 mag is at the top of my list, for some time the 2nd half of this year... my current 2 BFR's a 500 JRH & a 45-70... 44 Mag would be the little brother of the family

My next one will probably be the 357 mag. According to Max, it'll handle the 353 Casull level loads easily, but should wear less on the gun than from my FA.
I love the performance of the 357 max, but don't really load mine balls to the wall to keep the wear of my Rugers. The bfr can be loaded to max and I really don't worry about wearing one out. I load my 500 Linebaugh to 45,000 psi and after over 2000 of those loads it's still as tight as the day it left the Custom Shop.

I'm seriously considering a BFR in 357 Magnum. Then rechambering and rebarreling to 38-40 WCF...

They may do it for you if he's interested and has the time.I am considering having a 360 dan Wesson made up. The extra case capacity plus the ability to stand higher pressure leads me to think I can exceed 357max performance with the longer and beefier cylinder.

Too many variations in chamber dimensions on the 38-40. I'd want the chambers cut to match my loads. With MRI's excellent chamber alignment, I doubt line boring will be required. The Custom Shop built my 475 Linebaugh...

Why don’t you have the scope rings turned the same direction on these BFR’s. Mounting knobs face the loading gate on the 50

if that was to me, they are now matching rings, facing the same direction ( earlier picture, & couldn't get matching rings top start with )

"why don’t you have the scope rings turned the same direction"
....unless machined specifically for orientation - if they hold in place, what's the diff?
good luck with the bisley in 44mag - those are "hen's teeth" in this part of virginia!
