Wow, haven't seen many Aoudad but that sure looks like a dandy! What's the details, gun, caliber, bullet, distance, etc. Congratulations Trapr,

I was actually looking for a big red pig, but Rey had already given me permission to take an Aoudad if I saw one bigger than my first, or a ewe for the table. I had previously spent an hour or so watching a younger ram that was about the same size as my first. The next morning I was hunting an area that Rey had seen the big red pig on camera at, and he in fact came in but only for about 20-30 seconds and only stopped for about 5 seconds. I had the hammer cocked and was applying pressure when he spooked and ran off. About 15 minutes later a young ram came in and walked 15 feet from me as he walked down the road, he was soon run off by another herd of pigs. I removed a nice eating size sow from the herd and donated it to a needy family, first kill for my SRH 454. The next morning I’m in the same spot, hoping for the red pig, and another young ram comes in. He’s there about 5 minutes when I look up from my reading and there standing looking at the youngster and away from me is a ram that is noticeably bulkier and obviously a shooter. I ranged him at 71 yards, and had been trying to finish up an article on a new line of handgun hunting ammo from Hornady so decided to try and take him with my Super Blackhawk Hunter 44mag. I figured this would make a nice finish to the write up, I placed the crosshairs just behind his last rib and in-line with his front leg on the other side. The 200gr. Monoflex bullet landed right where I wanted and exited from his left armpit, a blood trail was almost immediate. He covered about 60-70 yards and was found piled up right in the edge of a small drop off in thick cedar. I was surprised by the size of his body, he is noticeably bigger than any whitetail or mule deer I’ve taken. His horns were definitely heavier than my first Aoudad, and after a green score he is about 20 inches bigger than my first one as well. I was actually surprised by the bullet exiting, some of the other mono bullets from other manufacturers only provided 20-24 inches of penetration and remained inside. I thank Rey for allowing me the opportunity and the friendship he has extended, and I hope to get a second chance at that big red pig. His green score puts him right at 138” Trapr
