Why didn’t y’all tell me how great this holster was sooner? I just got one for my 6 1/2” barreled Ruger Old Army and it fits it like a glove and the craftsmanship is perfect as always. I wasn’t real sure how I was going to like it so ordered a plain model but now I am going to need a couple of carved ones. This holster is the first one that is actually comfortable wearing strong side with a 6 1/2” barreled gun. It rides high enough that it doesn’t drive up the gun when you sit down. I love this thing. I was wanting to try out a Northwest Hunter but now I am afraid to, what happens if I like it more?

I have both, two different animals for sure! The NW Hunter is great as a hunting rig or for riding atv's or horseback, it moves around a bit though. The Longhorn is great for everything, IMO!

The Longhorn Companion has become the “grab and go” holster for a number of my revolvers … from a 4” Lil’ Gun to a banded barrel JRH conversion. In my experience, the more you use it the better you will like it.

DO YOU WEAR THE SLIDE ON A SEPARATE GUN BELT OR ON YOUR PANT'S BELT?

DO YOU WEAR THE SLIDE ON A SEPARATE GUN BELT OR ON YOUR PANT'S BELT? I normally wear mine on my pants belt … which is a 1.5” bullhide holster belt.

Own several. They're handier than a third thumb!

We DID tell ya about Doc's fantastic holsters. Just go back & look at all the excellent remarks we have made over the years.
Now,, I have several of his fine shucks,, and if I find myself in need of another one,, I'll NEVER hesitate to contact Doc for my needs.

Fermin got me started on those and now I have a handful- mostly Barranti and a Ted Blocker. Sad I lost track of the TLA holster that just sold because it would be a great addition. Mike can make it optic ready and do a removable flap to protect guns that might otherwise not see a hunt for being too nice. An afterthought that I still need to make is a hammer thong that snaps on to the flap snap so you have retention when using it without the flap. Well crap! I am going to have to give Doc a call again. Do you mind if I ask him to copy that one? A flap holster is great for a BP revolver.

Absolutely. I kinda gave him an outline of my needs and he did the design work, so it's hardly mine to hoard.
There's room to play with the contours of the flap if ya'll wanted to get creative.

How is it to draw? It seems like it would be hard to draw as high as it rides.
