Since I haven’t posted here much, mainly reading and soaking up info, allow me to introduce myself. My name is Dan, I recently started a business called Griffon Hill hoping to solve a problem I was having along with probably many of you, and that is finding a mount for a red dot for Ruger single actions. Specifically, NM Flattops. Currently I am in the process of testing the prototype and will soon start a production batch of mounts. The first mount I have designed fits all New Model Flattops and is CNC machined from 7075 Aluminum and will be hard coat anodized. The mount has the Docter/Noblex footprint and will accept Vortex Venom, Vortex Viper and Burris Fastfire red dots. I just wanted to let everyone know and kind of gauge the interest level to see how many everyone would be interested in. Here it is on my 5.5” Bisley in 44 Special with a Vortex Venom 3 MOA sight. The prototype is in raw aluminum, but the finished product will be hard coat anodized. I just finished putting 115 rounds through it today and the mount is rock solid. With all the delays right now it will probably be a month or two before they are available for sale, and at that time I will have my website up and running for orders. Been a lot of fun putting this together, hope you all like it.

That looks great! Will you be offering one for the RMR sights too?

Not initially, but I am considering that for future options. Hard to narrow down all the variations when everyone has their own favorite, but the Trijicon is on the list for the future.

Love to have a model to fit the regular full-size Ruger Blackhawks. Way more of them in circulation and lots of them used for hunting. It's a niche that needs filling. Best of luck with your venture!

I agree, the regular Blackhawk version is the next up for design and testing after the Flattop mount goes to production.

That looks pretty clean and about as low as you can get. Is there just one screw holding it on ?

Yes it utilizes the rear sight screw and the rear sight cross pin, also has provisions for a second screw if desired.

Yes very interested and the Burris is one of my favorite red dots. And one for a BFR as a lot of guys have them too at some future point plus i dont know if the Raptor mount guy is back in business but he made a great mount for the Smith&Wesson. Also think handgun hunting is booming and Rugers are a first gun for a lot of hunters.

I too, am interested in your mount. I have been running a Weigand mount on my Ruger Flattop for several years. I made a slight modification to the mount for installation, but it's solid.

How is the portion that overhangs into the rear sight cavity fitted? On my Rugers that notch doesn't seem all that square and without a quick pass on the mill it would be difficult to get the mount to bear up really snug to the topstrap from behind.

Is there any way to keep the mount from marring the finish on the top strap?
