Two of my grandsons went fishing down along the river yesterday, no school here on Fridays. The older one caught a whopper, fishing can be pretty good if you don't mind getting your fingers cold! Dick

By chance,, do they stock the creeks there? That one's fins look like some of the stockers we see around here.

I've got steelhead that were smaller!
It does look like a stocked brood hen they stock in some rivers in Oregon. That, or this is one big brawlin' mama!

I used to rub the inside surface of the rod guides with chapstick to reduce ice up when that issue crops up. Seemed to help some. Imagine there may be a commercially available product now ?

I do the same thing here in NY for keeping my guides free of ice. They do make commercial products but chapstick works just fine.
