Don't see these everyday...However, the sellers starting bid is apparently an indication of what he's been smoking... www.ebay.com/itm/224824571462

I sold a set of Farrant grips on eBay that came on a M-66 that I came into for $275 dollars a few years ago. Unsurprisingly, they went back to their place of origin, Southern California...I started them at a much more reasonable price & that's why this set has gone through numerous relisting cycles unsold...Pretty limited market & most have never even heard of these or the maker before.

I can't count the number of Farant S&W stocks I have sold on gun show tables for $15-$20 over the years.

I don't get it ......is there no one else on the planet that can shape a set of grips to match them . But why would you want to, they may be one of the ugliest set of grips I've ever seen. Although I do have a set of K frame Mustang grips that are damn near as ugly.

I will never claim to be a S&W guru. Ive never heard the Farrant name before. What makes those grips “worth” that much? Are they no longer made?

I'm well familiar with the name, but for the life of me I wouldn't have been able to tell you what they look like. (probably would have pictured some mottled Franzite grips)

He was an LAPD officer who made grips on the side in the 60's & 70's...That's about the extent of my knowledge on the subject.

I have a set from my PPC days for a K frame Smith made of Cocobolo if I remember correctly. Finger grooves, palm swells, checkered, open backstrap. They shrunk and developed a gap down the front seam. I took them off my match gun, put Pachmayers on and haven't seen the Farrant grips again in decades. They are in a storage box somewhere.
