Need some help on sprucing factory nickel on a S&W

Helping a friend sell an older Model 49 S&W J frame Bodyguard that is factory nickel plated. The gun mechanically is in excellent condition except the nickel plating looks carried and shows it's age. No nickel flaking as the finish is intact just "meh". Is there some solution I can use to dress the nickel up a bit and how would I apply that finish. Mother's? Don't know what's safe to use.

Break Free CLP & a jewelers cloth worked nicely on a heavily carried nickeled M-29 that I picked up last year.
