A buddy is pondering ordering a FA 97 in 357 and might add a 9mm cylinder to it. Anyone tried this combo? With standard 9mm ammo being .355” instead of .358” I can see it might it might not work as well in reality as it does in theory with cheap (relatively) factory 9mm.

Maybe he can convince them to make it in a polymer frame?

I have one! It will cut a ragged hole at 25 yards! I carry mine around the homestead to shoot grouse and turkeys in the melon.

They shoot just fine in the FA97. Just don't try it with cast bullets.
Mine has .357" throats and the barrel groove measures just under .357".
I had no interest in the 9mm Cylinder for mine. Still don't... But, the dealer had two in 357 Magnum and the Dual Cylinder Gun was much cheaper.
It's a strange world...

A cheap shot while nursing a glass of whiskey - I admit it If you only knew how many years he has wanted a FA 97 but couldn't get over the stainless steel, several custom Bowens and other marvelous revolvers occupy the safe but none of them scratch the FA itch. Buying the 9mm cylinder is just the end question I think of what is the perfect build here...

Maybe not as accurate as the 357 but gives you options and a cheaper way to shoot. My 9 cylinder is exceptional accurate outta a 4.25" barrel. Isn't it all for enjoyment anyway?
