Hello, may be a dumb question. Was reading about use of mags for reloading a SA in 45acp, 10mm, etc. (Strip them with your thumb into the chamber.) Are there any mags (of whatever caliber) that could serve the same function for 45 Colt or 327 Fed??

I think you’d be looking for an expensive magazine for the 45 colt,....something like a Desert Eagle mag, on the 327 again a Desert Eagle 357 mag might work but again expensive.
Also, welcome to the site.......Trapr

Does somebodies "camp rifle/carbine" come in 45 Colt ? Think not, but.. Somebody here know if the 327 would fit in a 30 Carbine mag ? Carbines base, how close to 327 rim diameter ? Lengths ?

I USE 223 STRIPPER CLIPS TO CARRY XTRA 327 AMMO, THAT MAY SERVE YOUR PURPOSE. THIS PAST WEEKEND, AT THE DEER LEASE, I DEALT WITH THE AMMO DILEMMA BY CARRYING MY 7 SHOT GP100 IN AN EPS TANKER HOLSTER. IF 7 AIN'T ENUFF I AM IN THE WRONG PLACE. ALSO, 327 AMMO CAN BE MADE TO FIT IN 38/357 LOOPS BY USING 2 1" LONG PIECES OF A STRAW CUT LENGTH WISE.

I started using the Quickstrips myself, several years ago... I rarely use a speedloader any more, since the strips lay flatter, & are available in most calibers
possible other magazine would be for the LAR Grizzly, but mags are likely harder to get & more expensive than the Desert Eagle mags... but it is another option

Watch out on the Tuff Products Quick Strips. The Quick Strips I’ve had tend to fall apart after a while, and break if dropped with ammo in them. They even break when in one of their Ammo pouches.

Thanks for the welcome, and all of the replies! I'd not considered 223 stripper clips or 30 carbine mags, so I will look into those. I do own QuickStrips, but probably need more practice using them. May have to look for a Blackhawk convertible with a 45acp cylinder, to make use of my old 1911 mags. Thanks again! Great forum, happy to be a part of it.

I have Bianchi Speed Strips that are at least 30 years old and Tuff Strips for .41s that are at least ten years old and just used the .41s on a hunting trip last week... Did you return them? Bob

Bob After reading this yesterday I went and searched around. Seems like there are a LOT of dissatisfied folks out there who've had their Quick Strips fall apart. For the life of me I can't figure out why someone doesn't make them out of silicone. The bakeware made from such is damn near indestructible.

This complaint of the QuickStrips/Tuff strips surprised me. Apparently all by www.tuffproducts.com . I have 3 for the 44's, bought at a LE /safety supply shop in the '80's that still see daily carry. A few years ago, orange ones for the 480's were picked up. Last year, some for 32 mag. NO issues. Gotta believe the occasional bad batch of goo is used. They should replace for free, out to a certain number of years anyway. It is good to share both good and bad on products. But if bad, by all means, call them. Give them a chance to make good. Let us know outcome too please.

My walkin' in the woods gun is a Taurus Titanium Tracker in .41 Magnum... I've had two Tuff Strips loaded with extra rounds for several years and they are both just fine. One is in a Tuff Products leather belt pouch and the other in a REMORA pocket pouch.

I tried .327 in a .30 carbine mag - here's a report of my results: singleactions.proboards.com/post/301817/threadShort answer is: works for convenient pocket carry of extra .327 rounds, but not practical as a "speed loader."
