High Standard intended a Sentinel snubnose for women: polished aluminum frame anodized in choice of turquoise, pink, and possibly yellow (gold). Seems three or four colors were available. David Bradshaw Long before the Ladysmith or the Charter anodized, jelly-bean colors. How about the GOLD with white grips (scroll down):
I liked the R-105. Check out that cylinder and see if it looks familiar:
Somewhere, I have pics or links to the blue and pink ones.

I saw this gun the other day on a different page, and was pretty interested... until I saw the zinc frame. Nothing against that, perfectly adequate for a .22. Then I saw the MSRP and that's a straight-up NO. In aluminum, sure, but that's a lot of money for zinc. I know, street price is likely to be less but for less money I can get a Wrangle if I want one.
Now if it were a Sentinal, hmmm... I have fond memories of that gun; I had one in the way-backs and liked it.

I hate to be so picky when someone goes to the effort to revive an oldie like this, but the zinc, mostly because of the weight, takes it off the list for me. Still glad they did it for those who are OK with the weight. My 44 Special that tdbarton showed on a recent thread only weighs 37 ounces (one ounce more than my Service Six), which makes this remake only 5 ounces lighter than my 44.
I am especially picky about that, so this is not meant as a relevant criticism for anyone else to consider.
And, yes, if it were a Sentinel, it would be that much more difficult to pas up. Aside from being "cheap," they were accurate (the ones I've shot), reliable and actually good-looking guns.
.....but I'd pass on the Gold, pink or blue frame myself.
To make a really bad pun, even below ME,..... You're "Senitel-mental" about that old revolver?
OK, that really was bad. Sorry you all had to see that.

David, Mr. Lefty Lewis, who was a close personal friend of Chic's gave me Chic's personal HS Sentinal snub speed holster, as shown in Chic's book. Will be eternally grateful to Lefty.

Will be eternally grateful to Lefty. ***** jayhawker.... Beautiful. Chic made the fastest shoulder holster I ever pulled. Armpit holster, horizontal draw, snaps behind hammer spur. Compact revolvers only. I was running down the sidewalk when my S&W M-36 Chiefs Special bursts out, skips down the sidewalk. A little old biddy walks toward me, rolling her grocery dolly behind. I could see the dotted line from her eyes to the snubnose .38 as it skids to rest. Heh, Heh.... scuze me, Mam, as I pick up the little five shooter, tuck it back in my armpit and close the snap. Still have the holster. Not a thumb break, it’s a pull-through snap arrangement. On the street you can play with a button on your shirt... flick off shoulder forward, whip shoulder back same time firing straight ahead. Draw & shoot barely moving gun hand. Holster still in excellent condition nearly 60 years later. Also still have a Chic Gaylord water-molded pig skin, inside-the-pants holster for the 1911. David Bradshaw

I learned to shoot on a Double Nine... As did I. Grandpa gave me his Double Nine as sold by Sears & Roebuck. I believe they called it a model 90. I harvested many rabbit & squirrel with that revolver. Still have it but the barrel is now loose in the frame. That's what a brick a week will do! Man, I wish I had the time and money these days to shoot a brick a week!

My Dads High Standard, NATO 49er is the first handgun I ever shot, it was back in the early 70’s. It was his only handgun for many years, as I got older l influenced him to get a Colt Series 70 .45 ACP. My Dad passed Almost two years ago, now I look after them. The old Double Nine NATO 49er has a lot of miles on it and it still shoots surprisingly well.
