Its so much fun, after all these years, to discover a new (to me) hunting cartridge... I was always interested in the Dan Wesson revolvers made for Super Mag ammunition and found a 357 version at a decent price... Pulled up reload data and used three different bullets all weighing 180grs:Nosler Partition- XTP and A-Frame... 100 yard accuracy was about equal with the Swift a bit better so with a 2-6X Redfield I was ready for boar. I believe it was at 66 yards I hit a 200+lb boar facing me and no one was more surprised then me when after five steps he fell over dead.. Damage from the Swift was impressive..... .

Well done James! That's the proper way to test bullets and break in a new gun, shoot something!

A shooting buddy now long gone had a 445 DW. It was NICE. It was also shot as loose as I've ever seen a handgun. He'd gotten the gun from an older relative from his wife's family and I have no idea how many rounds went thru it. It didn't sit in a safe. I do remember it being sleeker and sexier than my RH though ! A fine piece.

I tried my best to fall in love with a Dan Wesson. The closest I came was one of their barrel systems on a Redhawk by Bowen. I loved that gun with gusto. It now resides with my nephew and is his favorite.

Awesome James, that's a beautiful revolver. You obviously know how to use it.

Very nice James! A few years back I passed up a Dan Wesson .357 with the four barrel set, kick myself in the ass every time I think about it.

That’s what I’m talking about. Good example of proper swine ventilation.

James has been known to ventilate a swine or two.
