Good idea, I have seen inlays using stone, bone, metal, and ivory, usually simple shapes, but never anything that utilized it quite like these do.

As far as the inlaid grips. I just don't care for them. The shape of the inlay just doesn't go with the shape of the SBH style grips. The top of the inlay is rounded and the grip goes up to a 90 degree flat. It just doesn't look right to me. Sorry. It's nice work though. Maybe on a different grip.
Looks to be done correctly. That's a job that takes some skill.
