As someone who sends and receives a lot of product via all the big shippers, I never fail to be amazed at the inconsistency and explainable nature of it all! Last Friday, I ordered a bullet mold from M-P. Miha shipped it Monday, and it arrived from over there today. A few weeks ago I ordered one of those cheap damascus bars that come from Pakistan via Spain (Actually a nice bar of metal - but that is for another day!) it took 6 day total from order to door. I order from Midway, they ship that day, and it take 10 -14 day to get from them to michigan like clock work! Brownells is the same: Tracking shows in transit, and moving at full bore sloth speed! I order from McMaster by 4 pm, and have it next day everytime. I order from WT Tool, 300 miles closer to home and it takes - 3-5 days in transit! I recently had a package come from a USPS facility 50 miles from my home and it took 4 days to get to my door! Oh well! At least I got my mold today!!

How about the increase in S&H fees lately?
I ordered a small part from Texas. It headed west to the big city about 100 miles from me. Then it fell off the map. Popped up a week later in Georgia. Yesterday it had made its way back to Texas to start over.

Midway and Brownell's definitely use mule trains for shipping. No other explanation.

Midway and Brownell's definitely use mule trains for shipping. No other explanation. Especially if it's Midway free shipping.

All of my Midway shipments make it in under 7 days. Back in 2006 I had a check mailed next day from Helena, MT to Butte, MT. About 65 miles, or about 45 minutes drive time. I tracked it to Billings, so I thought Billings must be the break point for next day mail. Then it went to St. Louis, then Nashville, then somewhere in NY. They sent me another check and I got that one the next day. Around the same time I sent a letter from Butte to Clearwater, FL it took 11 days. My daughter sent me a letter from Charlotte to Butte, First Class, I got it the next day. How did that happen? I do buy things and get the "your item has shipped" email, but it hasn't. A shipping label has been printed. For the next 4 days there's no change, then it really ships.

It does not help that many of us live in little towns in out of the way places.

Same deal with MP Molds for me. I've got at least 10 of them and none took more than 5 days. Same also for both Midway/Brownells being slow and McMaster-Carr getting it the next day (though you pay for it).
I do know that UPS has declared war on all of my packages shipped through them. The last couple had been repeatedly hit with JDAM's. I just hope no one died during the shipments but I suspect a couple dozen did. Sad for the families....
