Out working in the yard & garden over the weekend, and in between the sound of farming equipment, I couldn't help noticing the sound of gunfire & ringing steel...Is normalcy finally returning at long last?

I think it is. The local corporate stores are getting quite a bit of ammo. Went to a gun show close to me yesterday. The guys jacking up academy ammo prices looked bored. No lines at the ammo tables. Gun guys seemed interested in trading again. Matter of fact I swapped a ruger Markiv rocs competition for a 45 colt ss new vaquero birdshead. Happy swap. I work at a local gun shop that opened in 1947. The owner whose father opened it, is now 68 has worked there since he was a kid. Says it's been the worst times he has ever seen for industry. We have gotten small lots of ammo but no big orders in.

This turned out to be my State Trooper neighbor that lives 1/2 mile down the road. His ammo is purchased by us Indiana tax payers... Which is a worthwhile expense in my opinion. Thought that sound was too good to be true at this point in time...

We still are shooting matches banging steel at least once a month burning 150-225 grains of powder each trigger pull. I love that sound!

Still trying to ring steel here, in between rain storms! This picture is right after Fowler dropped this one off last summer and I gave it a paint job. It’s had a few coats of paint since then and has some pox marks but it sure makes a nice noise! Tim

I think I have the first one of those he made. It’s a beast of a target!

I'd break those chains in no time.

I'd break those chains in no time. I shoot the bolts right out of them. Not on purpose though.

Grade 8 bolts do help. I’ve hit with with heavy 454s etc and they hold pretty well.

When he says “heavy 454’s” he isn’t kidding... 😂😂😂 That gun may very well be the only one 2dogs ever about lost in recoil. I think it even surprised him 😂😂😂😂😂 buddy, we were literally talking about that shot this week! You need to run it again, I think you’ll like it this time!
