Yes I said Llama, go ahead smite me again, I really don't care, it was the first handgun I ever owned, I have shot it a lot (I stopped counting at 16000rds) and have had exactly 2 jams of any kind, a failure to fire due to a worn out spring, and a failure to extract that ripped the rim off the case, can't blame it for that.

As Lili Von Shtupp said, "Oh, it's twue. It's twue. It's twue, it's twue!
If it makes up for it, I'm a Hi Power man when I'm not playing with my wheelguns (97% of the time) or my commie mouseguns!

My favorite semi-auto is my Springfield .45ACP M1911A1...been carrying it for a long time. I have never even considered carrying another semi-auto. I do sometimes carry a DA revolver, sometimes a S&W 686 under a long coat, sometimes a S&W 1917 in .45AutoRim and every once in a while a Taurus .44Special.
I also have a Luger in 9mm that gets shot an awful lot...mostly by my son. I wouldn't trust it as a carry gun...too prone to jam.

Then again, I have a TT-33 Tokarev that used t oget shot an awful lot, no recoil, h&*l for accurrate, tiny little sights that you have to look for, no safety to speak of, what's not to like? (rhetorical question, there's a lot not to like, but I'm weird whe nit comes to guns)

I guess this my favorite since it's only semi-auto I have left ;D It has a springfield slide with a paraord frame. I had the frame, parts and 3 clips metallifed for the two-tone effect and extra hardness.

Springfield Milspec in SS. With arched MSH, unaltered grip safety (no beavertail) and short trigger, it is like the original 1911 except with better sights. I would have preferred blued but the SS was in the case and autoloaders are flying off the shelves. Thanks to the greatest gun salesman since Clinton, in the time it takes to say "I have to think about it", it will be gone. I may send it to Robar for a bead blasted Roguard finish for the slide (black)and NP3 (grey) for the frame after breakin so as to not have to worry about galling. Ironically, the slide rails need more lube than blued guns. SS is supposed to need less attention than blued steel. In the meantime breakin will be 500 rounds of WWB and Militec-1 lubricant. I will also get a wide spur hammer installed along with a trigger job and the MSH will be changed to the original design w/o the internal lock.

Call me a heretic but I just can't warm up to a 1911. In fact it was the first centerfire autoloader that I bought as a young man. I tried to like it but I never had that sympatico relationship with the 1911 that many have preached about.
My favorite autoloader is the Ruger Mk2 .22 lr. That is about it. I have used it in the field for many years and have taken a plethora of small game, especially raccoon with it.

If a Llama doesn't get a smite, this will...I have a Star PD. It was one of the first factory chopped 45s. It has some kind of crappy black coated aluminum frame and the slide is blued. But that lil sucker will shoot anything you put in it, had a Gold Cup quality trigger out of the box and was accurate. I don't shoot it much anymore because I don't know if I could find parts for it. But it was my only gun during some lean years. I got to get some ammo that will be easy on it and let some lead fly for old times sake. I just got a SA Milspec that has an 8 lb pull and will have to go back to the factory for adjusment....go figure.
