Have a relative looking for a peacemaker clone and I suggested a Beretta Stampede. A. Is Beretta still producing the Stampede? B. Which is better Uberti or Beretta?
I have heard Beretta purchased Uberti. He wants a 45LC with possibly a 45ACP cylinder for plinking?
TIA
Zeke

I had one. Think it was made somewhere around 2006. It said beretta stampede on the side of the barrel, and uberti on the bottom.

They were produced for only a short tume.
Beretta bought up A. Uberti in 2000, and operates the company undertheir Benelli group.
I have two Stampedes, a very early 7 1/2" (SN B000xx), and a 4 3/4" model.. I carry one or the other, daily, and have done for nearly 20 years.
They have digested some 15,000 rounds each, of +P-level .45 Colt. No malfunctions; no breakages. I did replace the ejector rod on the long-barreled gun with a "bulls-eye" version, and made a set of one-piece burl walnut grips for it. No other changes. The short one is also bone-stock...
Couldn't ask for better.

Just an FYI if you are unfamiliar with the Stampede. It is a totally different animal that looks like a colt clone. Inside is all different clockworks and a transfer bar .Only made for a couple of years so not many around to judge by. I have a 3 1/2 Thunderer type Stampede that is fun, tight and accurate but pretty unsure of it's future if something breaks.

Great info here. I think I will turn him on to Uberti.

Many years ago I bought one in .45 with the 7 1/2" barrel. The CCH was purdy, the bluing looked great. The action was smooth and the trigger fine. One flaw I found, was that the cylinder would occasionally turn past the right lock up position if I cocked it too fast. Momentum would carry it past the bolt, I guess. A little patience and more realistic handling kept the problem away.
I eventually sold it.
