Good story BUT the 10-1/2" (not 10") S.B. did not arrive until 1979. Ruger did offer a 10" Flat-Top Blackhawk in the early years.

Having enjoyed the knowledgeable writings of Mr. Taffin for well over 20 years, I can assure you he was only attempting to be helpful.

Sacred and arrogant? Wow! I was just trying to give you information which could have been very important. If the Ruger in question was made before 1973 it is extremely rare and would have been worth several thousand dollars or if it had a 10" it would also be the much more valuable Flat-Top. Two years ago a fellow posted about his 1950 Target .44 Special. From the information he gave me we were able to ascertain it was in fact the very rare 1926 Model Target worth about $10,000. Information is valuable to some people.

Gentlepeople, let us take a minute to cool our passions (both sides). Please take a minute for reflection and let us get back to congratulating another member on a finely executed firearm.

Good looking gun but all I can say is "Wow" about some of the dialog.

Well it seems the OP has deleted all of his posts, that’s a shame. I personally liked the sentiment and the story, I also read the “correction” as rather pointless and understand his ire being raised by the tone.

THIS is what peeves me off. WE lose all this good content. I am no better or worse than anyone else; I will leave others to ponder their part in this. I am not taking sides. I AM saying it is heartbreaking to lose this story and I do think we could all grow a little skin. There is no tone in the written language.
